Hi Guys,
When I was a kid, I enjoyed watching movies with the surfers. Somehow surfing has always fascinated me …. But I could’t never imagine, that one day I would stand on the board too…. When I was in California … about 7 years ago… I saw the first surfers in my life and I was really excited to look at them …
Since then years have passed… But in the recent years my best friend has been involved in kite surfing, and my fascination for surfing has been rekindled … so I’ve decided to do what I’ve always wanted – to surf …
So I booked a surf vacation in Morocco. I took a good buddy with me, because traveling with a a good friend is sometimes better like alone, you can also share the travel cost…
Taghazout village is a small place and a paradise for surf beginners. I stayed at the Sol House Taghazout Bay – Surf with a surf school on site. So I could do my surf lessons right on the beach of my hotel. Any surfing beginner could surf there as well … for the pros there are better spots in the Atlantic – with higher waves …. But up to this level, it’s a long way for me My main problem is that I can not swim so well – or better to say not at all … And with a life jacket, it’s pretty uncomfortable … But honestly … I don’t need 2-3 meters waves
Sol House Taghazout Bay – Surf is a really cool hotel and wasn’t overcrowded …. a bit quiet, very modern and quite new. It was really fun to live there. Also the food was great …. So I really have nothing to complain about.
Otherwise, Morocco is a beautiful country, people there are not so intrusive; maybe it depends on the location too… The village Taghazout was about 15 minutes to walk from the hotel … There you could eat or drink in cafes right on the coast. In general almost every guest there is surfer, so not a typical vacation place …. Exactly what I like ….
I also took the time to visit Marrakech …. But about it in my next post …..
