Women’s Day

Hi Guys,

today is March 8 – International Women’s Day! Did you give already today flowers to your favorite womens?

I know, that many of you do not celebrate this day here in Germany. But I do To celebrate March 8 in Russia and former socialist countries is a tradition. This day was established in the period around the First World War by the initiative of Socialist organizations as a holiday. The aim was to promote equality, the emancipation of workers and the right to vote for women.

In eastern Europe March 8 is a holiday and is nearly comparable to Easter, Christmas or New Year. Nobody forgets that day, some people work on that date only part-time. Women get flowers and small gifts from their family members also
