The Big Apple – for those who don’t know, is the nickname of New York City. New York is my favorite city and there is no other place in the world like New York. You could spend a lifetime there and still never see or experience every part of the city. The city that never sleeps has absolutely everything your heart desires…
It wasn’t my first trip to New York and because of it I didn’t had any particular plans. I just wanted to be there, walk its streets and be a part of this glorious city.
But if it’s your first time in New York, you should definitely visit its places of interest:
The World Financial Center with tall palm trees in its lobby and Battery Park City just outside the building, where you can walk alongside the Hudson River
The Statue of Liberty , located on Liberty Island.
The famous Brooklyn Bridge that will get you from Manhattan to Brooklyn on foot.
The Empire State Building, the tallest building in New York, from the rooftop of which you can capture the view of the entire city.
There is also Brooklyn Botanical Garden. In the end of April, the cherry trees blossoms, and once a year, while the trees blossom it hosts the Japanese Festival Sakura Matsuri, where they have various interesting Japanese things – food, sweets, manga costumes.
Other points of interest include The Flatiron Building – the ‘iron flat’ skyscraper in Manhattan.
The Chrysler Building, one of the symbols of New York City and the skyscraper of Chrysler Corporation.
Times Square – this is one of the most visited squares in the central part of Manhattan – Neon advertising and busy life of New York. Finally, there are numerous Broadway theaters on Times Square and it would be a sin not to see at least one show. This time I saw the musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It”, starring the famous Hollywood actor Matthew Broderick; this is, of course, one of the advantages of New York Broadway.
New York City can be considered a green city, there are trees and flowers everywhere and, of course, many parks. One of the biggest and most famous parks is Central Park. My favorite and full of young people park is Washington Square Park which is near NYU. There is also Madison Square Park, Battery Park …..
Like most cities in the world, New York has its fair share of museums: The Guggenheim Museum, The Museum of Modern Art, The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
If you ever get a chance to visit New York City, do it and you won’t regret it
