Hi guys,
perhaps you remember my post about South Tyrol and that I stoppen on my way back to visit Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens near Innsbruck.
Swarovski is headquartered in Wattens, Austria and for their 100 year anniversary, they opened Crystal Worlds – a theme park with a museum and a huge store
I expected an exhibition about crystals, but it turned out to be a great museum with unexpected modern art installations and lighting effects – of course, most decorated with Swarovski crystals.
I especially liked the Crystal Dome of Andre Heller, Brian Eno and Susanne Schmöger and Winter’s Dream by Alexand McQueen and Tord Boontje. The Mechanical Theatre by Susanne Schmögner, Crystal Calligraphy by Paul Silk, Reflections by Checkpointmedia, Crystal Forest by Fabrizio Plessis and many other fantasy worlds immerse you in another world.
The Swarovski shop did disappoint me Very full, very touristic, almost all jewelry can be touched 1000 times by the people, dropped, scratched… Here glamor and luxury of Swarovski got lost
I really liked the exhibition very much and even if you’re not a big fan of Swarovski, but interested in modern art, it is worth to visit the Museum of Crystal Worlds.
