Hi Guys,
here comes the second part of my Bali trip report. As you know from my first y Bali Post my journey continued from Ubud to Lovina.
From Ubud to Lovina you can go by Taxi or shuttle bus. The latter costs significantly less. However, if you go by taxi you can make a stop at Bedugul, as you drive through the mountains anyway – but I did only visit the waterfall Gitgit.
Lovina is located on the north coast of Bali, the Bali sea and is not at all touristy. There are really relatively few tourists – perhaps because of the season, when I was there. If you want to spend some quite time on your own, Lovina is a good place. Unfortunately, there are some disadvantages, too …. Lovina is not a good place for swimming. The beach is very dirty, which probably is more cause by the fishermen who inhabit it, than the volcano black sand. On the other hand this also has a certain charm. Anyway, I found peace and a little rest. Off the coast of Lovina live dolphins – perhaps the main reason to go there. You have to get up really early and go out with one of the fishermen in order to see them. Delphine only show up while chasing their breakfast. We were lucky: after a beautiful sunrise on the sea, we were with the first boat to discover dolphins – a short time later around 20 fishing boats with tourists on board hinted a swarm of dolphins – well, the Dolphins have hunted fish, too indeed
On the north coast the only national park of Bali is located and of course I couldn’t miss it. I had prepared myself for jungle and rainforest and was a little disappointed – the forest was very dry and so didn’t fulfill my expectations of a Jungle – I know, it looks different at the pictures Nevertheless, we have discovered something special: black monkeys – they only live in Bali National Park and their population is threatened. Of course, in the Jungle also ‘normal’ gray monkeys, birds, lizards live … Attention, Jungle monkeys are not as friendly as in Monkey Forrest; please don’t feed them or have enough food with you – otherwise they will get angry
I had 4 days left before I had to go to Nusa Dua, an elegant seaside resort with expensive hotels. First I planned to go back to the friendly monkeys of Ubud, but then I decided to make a detour to Jakarta. In another post I’ll tell you about it …
Back from Jakarta I spent the last days in Nusa Dua. There I really was able to enjoy the time. Nusa Dua is the best place in Bali and has the most beautiful beaches – that was something for me And I found some sweet creatures, too
